Step 1: Download the Instagram App

Step 2: Contact Access 

After installation open the app and you will be shown Terms and Conditions, you will have to Continue and tap to start a new account. After selecting that you will be asked for access to your contacts. You can choose anyone or can skip it for later.

Step 3: Valid Phone Number or Email Address 

Next, you can create a new account using either your phone number or email address. Now in this step, all you have to know is that it is important to have a valid phone number or email address to create a new account on Instagram.

Step 4: Confirmation Code

Tap on Next after entering any one of your phone numbers or email addresses and you will get a confirmation code through mail or message. Copy that code and paste it in the space and tap Next.

Step 5: Either Syncing with Your Contacts Or Not

In the next step, you will be asked for your name and password. You can enter your name or any name you want. Then enter a secure password and tap on ‘Continue and Sync Contacts’ if you want to get touched with your mobile contacts through your Instagram account. If you do not want that you can tap the option below ‘Continue without Syncing Contacts’.

Step 6: Date of Birth

Next, you will have to enter your date of birth. At the bottom of your screen a bar will be visible, scroll it and select your birth date, month and birth year and tap Next.

Step 7: Your Username

In the next step, you will have the option to create a username. You also can stick to the username given by default. If you are done tap on Next.

Step 8: Signing Up

Next, you will have to tap on Sign up which will be visible at the bottom of your mobile screen in a blue bar. After that, your account will be registered.

Step 9: Stick with Facebook Or Not

Subsequently, a screen will appear asking you to follow your Facebook friends, if you feel comfortable going for it otherwise you can skip it.

Step 10: Profile Photo

Now you are in your account and asked for a profile photo. You can set a profile photo from your gallery by tapping on the camera icon. You also can skip it for now.

Step 11: Discover People

You can now discover people on the next screen by searching on the app and adding stories of your choice, following people you like, editing your pictures with filters and much more fun.

Here are some general instructions that will help you to use the app. 

• To create a new Instagram post touch on the Plus icon visible at the top right corner of the screen.
• Touch on the Home icon to check the main feed. 
• You can scroll the feed and if you like any post double-tap on that post or tap the heart icon on the left side beneath the post.
• To search any post or profile tap on the search bar and type the name. If you want to follow tap Follow after opening the profile.
• If you see a red dot beneath your profile photo it means you have new notifications.
• To check your previous activities go to your profile and tap on the three lines at the top and tap ‘Your Activity’.
